PRESIDENT’S CORNER HAPPY NEW YEAR To all our members and their families. As we leave behind the challenges that 2009 presented us with, we can look forward to a new year filled with an expectation of better economic news and major sports events, namely the Winter Olympics and Soccer World Cup, these two events are sure to capture our imagination. Our Kids Christmas Party lived up to its billing as the biggest event on our calendar with record numbers of people enjoying a family festive atmosphere on a beautiful sunny day. Our regular door checks are proving to be successful with members and guests more aware of the regulations we are faced with in our licence. Namely signing in your partner or guests and affiliate members only being able to sign in one other person. We will continue with these checks in the new year. They are thinking for the summer outside on the patio along the lines of a wood fired pizza oven, a spit roast, (to build a roast sandwich) and an ice cream cart for dessert or just a treat on a hot day. Also a shared "Long Lunch"... share your lunch with friends whilst enjoying good wines.These are a few ideas we have in the pipe line.
